Recently purchased my MX-5 from Sam at Pitlane Performance. Cannot speak highly enough of the level of service I received. The car I purchased is in excellent condition (10 years old) and was beautifully prepared for my arrival (as are all the cars he sells). Paperwork presentation and ease of purchase was second to none. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Sam. His knowledge and passion for the cars that he sells shines through in conversation. I’d travelled a considerable distance to collect the car and he was more than happy to pick me up at the train station and so our conversation began. I truly cannot fault the service provided by Sam at Pitlane Performance. The MX-5 NC I purchased was an exceptional example of the car which attests to the quality of cars being sold here. On collection I found the car to be prepared to a high quality and although there was a minor fault early on (which is very common across all MX-5 generations) Sam fixed this immediately and has gone out of the way to make the whole buying experience the best I’ve ever received when purchasing a car.
Very pleased. Sam got in the age and spec of mx5 I’d been looking for. Car was very well prepped. Picked me up from the station. I asked Sam to fill up the car so I could head straight back on a fairly long journey (for which I would pay) and that was sorted too. I’d suggest if you don’t see the car you want in stock have a chat with Sam and he’ll probably be able to source one. Friendly and helpful. Lots of dealers of older cars looking to simply shift stock no matter condition. It’s clear that Sam is only interested in finding straight well cared for cars.
Recently bought a Skoda Citigo from Sam at Pitlane Performance, and it was an incredible experience. Sam is the opposite of the typical ‘car salesman’ you’d expect from a used car dealership – you could tell over the phone he was an extremely pleasant and helpful guy, and in person it was obvious he had a passion for every car he had in stock and clearly had my best interests in mind. It’s my first car I’ve bought and I was relatively nervous about test driving it, but he was super reassuring through that process too, whilst guiding me through the car clearly and concisely.
When I decided to buy the car, Sam confidently answered any questions I had in depth, offered a 6 month warranty on the car, said he was happy to sort any problems simply over the phone should anything arise and even delivered it at a preferred time for me free of charge. What more could you want?
I was also never remotely pushed or pointed in the direction of a sale, or even a review after everything was said and done! It really made me feel like he only cared about how I felt about the car rather than making money, which for a first car buying experience is perfect.
Overall, if you’re looking to buy a used car then I couldn’t recommend Pitlane Performance enough, and later in life when I look for another car then this dealership will be top of my list!
